Description:

Desire Jones is a young, hot-to-trot, preteen who lives life on the edge. Stuck with the pain of being abandoned by her mom, she yearns for love and attention. Her uncle shelters her but life is impossible to bear with his abusive wife. To make things worse, she gets involved with Malik, who shatters her world of hope and trust by leaving her pregnant at age thirteen and infected with HIV. So hardened, she decides to do the unspeakable: purposely infect people with her near-death disease. Of course, no one knows of her intent, not even her best-friend, Jennifer, who helps Desire find her victims. She is on a mission that is fatal and detrimental to all mankind. Her path remains untraceable, that is, until someone decides to take her out...but even then...it's too late.

About the Author:

Tia Hines, from Boston, MA is an author making her mark in the literary world. She is a full time Training Specialist by day and a Writer by night. When not writing, she dedicates her time to youth mentoring and teaching Hip-Hop dance. She graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and has a Master’s from Suffolk University in Criminal Justice. Tia discovered her passion for writing at a very young age.  She figured she could create unimaginable stories through the explosion of words. With this in mind, she wrote her first novel, “Drama”, which successfully debuted #9 on Essence Magazine’s April Bestsellers List. She has now written her second novel entitled, “Poison: A Desire to Burn”, which she hopes will also debut as a bestseller. Her main goal is to get more youth to read and she plans to accomplish this by writing a series of intriguing novels. Tia wants to inspire all those to have dreams. “Begin by setting goals and creating dreams. Then, remember, let no one belittle you or deter you from your dreams. Finally, always be a step ahead of the game and never stop striving to achieve higher heights.”
